A New Day In Pattaya

Its a great day on the Pattaya beach. It seems to be some sort of holiday and every ones come down to have some Fun In The Sun. This definitely beats lying around the hotel pool. Who needs computer games and violent DVD's? An old inner tube, a bucket and spade and a little imagination are all these kids need. For the more adventurous try the Thunder Jet. Unfortunately their web site does not do this ride justice, It's awesome

We ask our deckchair attendant to organise a speed boat to take us to Koh Larn. This is a small Island just of the Pattaya cost. It cost us 2000Bht but like everything in Pattaya you can always negotiate for a better price. In fact it's expected! This is the price for the boat and not per person, so it's not too expensive if you are travelling in a group. There are other ways to get to Koh Larn. You can take the ferry from Bali Hia Pier, I think they run every hour and only cost around 30Bht each way. This time we take the speed boat and have all the major bones in our bodies shaken loose!! The sea is quite choppy today and our boat spends a great deal of the time "airborne". It took us about fifteen minutes to get to Koh Larn and another 24 hours before we could stand up straight again! (My back really hurt) But of cause there's always a Thai massage to put you straight again. This is something every one should try, even if you don't have any aches and pains.

For a smoother ride, either sit in the back of the speed boat or "take the ferry!"

We arrive on Koh Larn at Tawaen beach the largest beach on the island. Here you'll find crystal clear water to swim in. Also the beach area is fenced off to stop speed boats and jet ski's coming in to close. This is an excellent place for parents to take their children a really safe beach. There are also a couple of restaurants and shops where you can buy souvenirs from.
